Love: Communicating Vessels
This vase is more than just a container: it’s a small poetic manifesto of
connection. Inspired by the principle of communicating vessels, it transforms a
scientific concept into a design gesture that speaks of balance, relationships,
and inner exchanges. Composed of two distinct elements—two different
personalities coexisting in the same visual harmony—it tells a story of
autonomy and sharing, of individual strength and the bonds that unite.
A small horizontal conduit links the two parts: a subtle but essential bridge. It
evokes the idea of communicating vessels, where water—or what it
symbolizes—always finds its level.
Here, water
becomes a metaphor: emotions, care, love, and energy naturally distribute
between two different entities, maintaining a shared equilibrium.
The vase
seems to convey a simple yet profound truth: what touches one touches the
other. Differences do not separate—they enrich; connection does not impose—it
balances.
Perfect as
a symbol of a bond, a relationship, a family—or simply as a design piece that
brings a story of shared balance into a home.
The most
challenging part was the central perforated tube: a delicate passage in the
firing process. Three pairs were made, and only one survived intact.
